Indian creek farmstead wedding; Petersburg, Il

Kathleen contacted me only a couple of months before her and Larry’s wedding! Thankfully I had taken that day off in advance but decided it must just be, meant to be! We set up a small meeting to get to know one another and right from the start I knew I wanted to work with them. They both have such a down to earth personality that made me feel so comfortable, so calm and relaxed! We didn’t get to do an engagement session because well, there was no time…but honestly I felt like I already knew them just from our first met. I gift my wonderful couples with the complimentary engagement session so they can see how I work. This way on their wedding day they know what to expect, The day goes by so smooth this way and they don’t think I am some kind of crazy person (well total crazy person) on their big day! Thankfully neither Katie or Larry thought I was to crazy, or at least they went along with it! They didn’t hesitate to do the things I asked and their bridal party was great! Their day called for rain but only sprinkled. We ended up with amazing weather! The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield was breath taking. The reception at Indian creek farmstead had such a great environment, the kids had a blast playing out side while the adults did “wedding stuff”, no kid complained….at all! I keep playing the day over trying to decide what my favorite part of the day was and its so hard to choose but I have narrowed it down to the speeches…. although it was all 4 speeches! Katies mom, Jo, gave an unforgettable speech of determination and choosing each other, Katie’s Dad Steve, gave the best story about the similarities in Jo and his life and Larry and Kathleen’s life, Mary the maiden of honor made us all cry with her speech, and Brad the best man took us on a journey through Larry’s life that inspired us all. I learned so much about Katie and Larry and what amazing people they are through those 4 speeches! I already knew how much they loved each other and how each of them are incredible people but those speeches just made it all clear how much! This wedding day was so beautiful but still not as beautiful as the life you two have created with each other! I am so extremely happy to have worked with you and your fun families!
